Default Lost plane

Dersert Ratt,

Yep, at least 65 miles. The plane was a Spacer Class "A" Free Fight with a K&B .19 and a Tornado prop. I think the tank size was about 1oz but had a timer to cut the engine off after only 10 sec. which would get it up to 100-150 ft. I would guess, at one time it had came down to only about five feet when it got into the strongest thermal I have ever seen. We followed in a 1953 Chevy convertable untill it got so high that it was out of sight! This plane was equiped with a dethermalizer which had operated after six min. but the plane continued to go up. Fortunatly that was my third official flight that day (all max) and I won the contest.

Started flying R/C shortly after that but still enjoyed free flight until I got to old and fat to chase them down
