Default RE: Go back to using 3W?? (multiple selecttion)

I sympathise with Otter,
Back in the day a long long time ago..........I bought a 3w 60k which devloped all the usual 3w problems we have heard about before. The trouble was............I was not experienced enough WITH GAS MOTORS to recognize these problems for what they were........(carb block warp and bad ignition). Try as I might I couldnt get the engine to run right and it ended up costing me two airframes and endless money in shipping for repairs broken props etc. etc. Needless to say I was very unhappy with 3w and vowed never to give them my money again!!
Now..........had I been more knowledgeable at the time (knowing what I know now!!), I may have figured out the faults of the engine and perhaps managed to repair them, ending up with a fine running motor.

A lot of people who are having bad experiences with 3w sound very much like I did almost 10 years ago with my 3w60k! This is why I sypathise with Otter.
Perhaps they dont have the "experience" needed to get them run right.
Perhaps they werent lucky enough to get one that ran "straight out of the box with never a problem"

BUT lets face it................ITS NOT THEIR FAULT
If you buy something and you follow the instructions............IT SHOULD WORK
If it was a $1200 washer and dryer...............and it leaked and didnt work.............how long til Sears got the phonecall hmmmm?

IN GENERAL............

3W produce produce an excellent engine with very poor quality control that sometimes is a pain in the rear to get running right.

Give Otter a break he is probably very angry at being out of pocket and he has every right to be!!!!

Kindest regards IanB
