It's good to soften up the bottom end when learning to hover. If the manual recommends -2 at low stick in normal mode, I would make it 0 to +1 degrees at first. That way if you panic and drop the stick suddenly you won't hammer the thing into the ground. Just don't try forward flight with that setting! You'll bleed too much head speed trying to get it down and the cyclic control will get very mushy!
