You get more rpm out of an APC because its tips do little work and thus exert very little load on the engine. The tips are there just for noise reduction. In effect, a 15" APC is like a 14" MA with square tips. I like MA nylon Scimitar prop over APC. However, I prefer Bolly pre-balanced carbon fiber props over both MA and APC.
