First off, People who BUY ARFS or RTF planes are not MODELERS they FLY model airplanes! Only people who build and or fly what they have built, no matter how well at either in my mind can be considered modelers. The is nothing wrong with Checkbook Fliers just don't call them modelers.

I can see your point and seems rational...but maybe the label should be more specific..."checkbook remote control model fixed wing aircraft flier"...since I know a fellow that purchases full scale "built" aircraft...he would be a "checkbook flier" I guess with your logic...
so Heli fliers are the checkbook variety of modelers...errr...flier


since helicopters only require assembly and not any actual building.
Building; construction by cutting, shaping of materials and assembling the parts made.
Assemble; to fit together the parts, pieces or assemblies.
So by the prevailing logic of most...Heli pilots are not modelers at all. Hmmm...
