Troll,

I know what the first eight letters stand for but what does P-I-M-P stand for???

We all have differences of opinion on this subject but I don't understand why....I've always thought that someone that buys their way into something and FAILS (the key word here) is someone with more bucks than ability..Whether its golf, racing, model airplanes, etc., etc....In golfing this especially rings true. Get this...How many novice golfers have you seen buy the BEST equipment money can buy and they still shoot a 110???----On the FRONT nine!!!! In reality, for guys like this it wouldn't have mattered if they bought the latest bag of Greg Norman sticks or ones from the local Wal Mart---The end results are the same.

PIMP peeing in my pants

Kevin please don't take me the wrong way but I have been around the block a time or two. I have heard the use of "checkbook modeler" many times and most often used by experienced pilots to show disdain for the so called "checkbook modeler" requesting much of his time for instructions and general help...so J_R's definition is just that... HIS.

kevvin,
gotta disagree with ya here.
we want those "checkbook whateverers" to keep buying the best stuff possible, cause guys like me move in when they get discouraged, and buy it fer pennys on the dollar.
so, see, the outcome is different depending on what they buy<G>

. . also, the price of anything is related to the volume sold, so the more who buy anything the better for us all, even if they don't have the skills to use it properly.

Hey David,
I just talked to my friend Milton Friedman and he said if demand goes up and supply stays the same the price will increase.

Ya, like the guy I knew in College who blamed his lousy Photos on equipment, not his lousy darkroom technique..so he sold all his Nikon stuff and bought Hasselblad...
Still couldn't take an in-focus picture...

Hey David,
I just talked to my friend Milton Friedman and he said if demand goes up and supply stays the same the price will increase.
That's funny, the last time I spoke to me ol' mate Milton he said that this only happens if the company in question is cute enough to be able to change price, and, even if that's true, costs go down with higher volume, so that elusive profit margin naturally goes up thus reducing the pressure from those nasty finance people to have a price increase.

you didn't read the post, me lad.
Basinbum pointed out that with no increase in volume, the price goes up. Well known fact. If demand is greater than the supply, price increases.
You, on the other hand, naively assume that production will increase. Why work harder when you can make more money by staying on an even keel?

costs go down with higher volume,
But if the supply stays the same the volume remains the same and demand (at the same price) outstrips the supply. So the price goes up till demand and supply are in balance.

Well, since you and others are admittedly bad modlers who cannot handle there expensive equipment you deserve to be second class citizens. These are not cameras, if handled badly they can crash into people or property.

What the heck is a "checkbook" anyway? You guys who need somebody to look down on should at least update your insults. Let's move to the 2000's and call them "credit card modelers".

credit card modelers
Good point, but I think the credit card modeler's route is for those of us who haven't got the money to buy anything!

Lets skip all of the derrogatory terms pointed at modellers and start pointing out the people on these boards that fit into the category of "douche"

There are plenty........

Plus they are safe! They take care not to crash till the credit card bill is paid!

Something to think about. Build or ARF both require a check book. Skill come with flying. Everyone is new at some time, all had to have help to get better. As as a "hobbist / flyer" moves up in the "hobby/sport" new skills are needed. Help and we all win, complain and everyone losses. All clubs have those that help the new members and enjoy watching and helping anyone improve. If a club has unsafe pilots work with them, if that person will not take the help ask them to leave.
