Why try to re-invent the wheel ( or heli as it is)?
Building one from scratch would cost you 10 times the price of a kit. If you want to fly helis, order a kit and put it together. If you can't afford a kit, look at a used heli and learn that way. If you can't afford to do that, work till you can. It takes money to keep a heli in the air. The hard truth is that helis wear parts out, and you will crash it learning more often than not. Parts are expensive, so to speak.
I see people from time to time come on with little to no experience saying they want all the info to build one from scratch, but have yet to see someone actually do it. They are not like planes where you can just slap some sticks together. There are many parts as stated above. Check into the kits. You will save a ton of money and even more time.
