Default RE: DC power supply for Triton charger?

We have several PC power supply rechargers that members of our club use. I have mine, but it is yet to be built. I will even build a small case to put the supply in. My neighbor took it one step furtherl, he took his field charger apart, drilled some holes on the back, mounted a PC cooling fan so that the heat is drawn out of the charger, then added another fan to draw hot air out of the box with the power supply. We have 110v service at our field so it is convenient to use these. I have also been told that you need to add something to reduce the overal power. (I am not a real electronics person here, but I think it is some resistors on certain circuits or something like that.) My neighbor has agreed to set it up for me anyway and I will learn it then.
