Yeah, check valve doesn't make sense, but I haven't had too much trouble by simply closing the carb before fueling. But I think a lot of it depends on the relationship of Fuel Dot placement compared to the level of the carb and the tank. (oh, and it helps if you can remove the pressure line from the muffler.)
