Most of the guys in my club have a field charger and it will recharge the RX and TX packs in about 15 minutes. I don't have one myself but usually 3 or 4 flights is enough for me. I like the socializing at the field just as much as the flying. I think I will get a field charger though in case I do happen to want to fly a lot on a particular day.

Sounds like a great plan to have another RX pack charged up and ready to swap in. The only problem I can see is that most of my battery packs are buried so deep in my planes that it would be a real chore to get one out and back in.

You're pretty lucky to have a field that close! I have to drive 30 minutes!
