RE: Lancair Fueling Setup Question
I have slimlines new F1 system on our newest lancair. It works well and looks about as good as can be expected without hiding your fueler in a hatch or something. You can see the F1 cap in the attached pic. It requires a 3-line system. Fill, carb, pressure. Used Dubros' easyfueler on a lot of other planes and really think that is the way to go. 2 line system using a check valve. No muss, no fuss. This F-1 fueler leaks at the intake fitting until you replace the cap...runnin' all down the side of that 80 hour arf. What, you aint' spendin' that kind of time on this plane...shame on you :-)
I bought a more transparent fuel tank, as I remember the difficulty seeing the fuel level in the very opaque tank that comes with the kit. This plane is so fuel efficient (OS .91) that I see no need to fill the tank to overflowing. Just wastes fuel and makes a mess. We fill till it gets very near the top. The less-opague tank really helps here.
