rreiss is right that you certainly don't need them. I think they're a lot of fun - especially on floaters. I like to see slow I can fly a plane and even make it hover pointed straight into the wind. But if this is your first plane, you're adding unnecessary complication to it. A lot of beginners have trouble getting one servo working right. Flaperons require two very closely matched mechanical setups to work properly.
