I agree that the drawings are inaccurate. The picture you posted is very interesting. I have looked at a lot of staggerwing pictures and several staggerwings. I think that Wylam has the fuselage cross sections wrong. The rear fuselage is more oval shaped, as the picture you posted shows clearly. Also, I believe there were changes made between models. The 17R fuselage is narrower than later models, and the "inverted gull" configuration of the lower wing is more pronounced.

The 3-views posted above and the Wylam drawings are the only generally available drawings that I know of. Are there others?
