RE: GP Tiger Moth and Spins.
She'll spin. pull the nose up with hi rate elevator and when she starts to stall, give it left or right rudder. Be careful on the rudder input, I use low rate for spins. On hi rate she'll tuck in and spin real tight. Don't get greedy on altitude, it'll take a turn or a little more to come up. I just let up on the controls. Not bold enough to try a flat spin. Plane's just too nice to chance it.
The tiger in a spin is one of the most beautiful manuevers it can do. It's mesmerizing ! Trust me !
That long tail moment has a lot to do with the weather vaneing on landings.
As stated the tiger will show you your mistakes. It's an easy plane to fly but a tough nut to fly it correctly and make it look good.
On your ailerons, program in some differential, helped mine leaps and bounds. It still sucks for aileron rolls, you have to do more of a barrel roll / loop type roll. With the diff, rudder and full aileron, I can aileron roll mine but it really looks un-natural.
I totally love flying mine on calm evenings, Low 1/2 throttle passes is just right. I'll post a pic tonight if I get the chance.
