For FMS/Futaba, be sure and connect shield ground to shield ground in addtion to the pins.

ALSO, with some video cards, there is a IRQ (interupt) setting in regards to it sharing it with the parrallel port that has to be turned off. Search for it in the forums at FMS's site.
