Default Maiden flight anxiety!

Have time now.
Well. it was a beautiful day for starters, couldn't have been any better. The guy I was flying with got his stick in the air an was throwing it around a lot, low passes and all, anyway, he handed the box over to me and without any problems ( except keeping constant speed and height) I completed a number of very accurate figure eights.

We then found out after refueling, that I had my Tx set up differently to his and that I had been using rudder the whole time, after seeing this I flew with the ailerons and hey, I could do straight rolls and everything, not bad for my second time on the stick. On the third flight i got a little more adventureous and went a bit lower and faster and did my first stall turn!!!. My dad came back from the farm next door and was very impressed and said " to much time on the simulator!" , that cracked everyone up.

Then it was time to take MY plane for a flight, my friend named it ' The Bomber', it is the skewest bi-plane ever, I let my flying friend take it up first to trim it out, boy did it need a lot of that. It hasn't been flown for 20 years, my dad used to fly them. The second t/o was not so successful as it stalled on t/o and a wing droped, caught the ground and rolled and fliped the plane, only damage, bent undercarage.
Third flight was more successful, got off clear after a longer t/o run than the previous. Then I flew some more figure eights, then handed it to my friend to see what he could do with it , well it rolls, very, very slooowwly. He did a fly-by and it is a little disconcerting when this plane flies straight at you but angeled out by 'bout 10 degrees. The reason for this is that the tail boom was glassed back on , but not too straight.
He then did a low pass, the engine quit and we lost site of it going around the bush, our "spectators" gave a cheer as it missed a tree and tumbled into the bush, no substantial damage apart from a brace that broke under the wing.

Damn what a cool day that was!!! I am now sooooooo hooked on the smell of the fuel and exhaust fumes and flying itself , probably go fly tomorrow, had to play golf today, shot an 88 ( par 71) so I am pleased wif that as well.
How I LOVE R/C.

Good flying
