Default RE: New and Need Advice

Hi,

Welcome to the hobby, in hear you will hear lots of different advice. I personnaly started with a electric plane, so spent my cash and brought one. The next week i went to the local club and saw the large glow powered war birds, like the Spit and Mustang. Since that day i never flew my electric plane again lol. The sound of glow engines when they roar past above in the sky just made my little electric thing look pitiful. ( No disrepect for the electiric pilots out thier, it just wanst my type of thing i wanted out of this hobby). I guess what you need to establish what your after in the long run. Is it worth spending your money on electric then change your mind as i did within a week.

My advice would be to find your local club/flying field, take a look around, talk to the members as belive me you can learn soo much from others that you would never find in a book. Look at thier planes, see what they fly then make the desicion after that, its no good rushing into buying something you wont use... Maybe they may have a cheap trainer and gear they could sell you, it may be worth asking.

Good luck in whatever you choose, but believe me this is an addictive hobby, i started about 6 months ago and now have a fleet of 15 + Warbirds lol, and still love every min.. (apart from when i nosed dived my ME-109 full power into the ground ) lol
