I'm building the GSP P-47 (71" span) and I purchased the mechanical retracts for them too. Just putting them in. The struts look weak for a grass field but will probably do OK on a paved runway, at least for a while if you can land softly. Usually I don't do that too often.

The kit is not bad, I like it. Nice finish.
