RE: Hanger 9 60 P51 install Flaps?
I wouldn't bother with the flaps. I had a H9 60 Mustang modified with them. They look great but the Mustang already is so light it floats down the runway. With the flaps, I had problems flaring the plane. They kept wanting to push the nose down and as air speed bled off the elevator became less effective. You end up with wheel landings just about everytime. You end up setting the flaps to just barely come down and at that point-what is the point ?
The corsair will probably be just as bad. Now if you add 2-3 lbs to them maybe the flaps will help.
I feel sometimes a plane can be too light, I prefer a plane that will sink rather than float. Of course, I don't want a brick either-it's a fine line. With a Cub, float's ok, with a warbird nah !
