all my planes hover 1 to 1 between 1/4 and 1/2 throttle. which leaves lots of explosive power in reserve to pull out when necessary. I am scared like hell when I fly someone elses airplane that hovers at 3/4+ throttle setting. hopes this helps, be careful not to add unecessary weight with a bigger engine - see my thread (increase power and decrease weight) on this list. good luck, hope this helps. ray
