The simpliest way is accomplish this is to go to a local adult night school which in my neighborhood cost $30 per semester. After about five weeks, the class will thin out, and you will have basically learned many of the commands which will enable you to do some work at home.
True story that. It's how I got started. I was also really motived to learn it, so I did far better in the class. Hell, my final project was in 3D and had threads. We only spent one day on 3D. It's relative to your computer knowledge (which it sounds liek you have covered) and your desire to learn somethign new.
