Hi Robert,
I'll leave you with this one last thought. There is no such thing as a "BEC compliant" receiver. This function resides entirely in the ESC. The Hobby shop people you've been talking to are blowing smoke up your tailpipe and your ESC is just plain bad. Have them give you your money back and go elsewhere.
