RE: WM Rambler's Engine Mount?
Hi guys. The engine is inverted and it has a 13/8 in that picture. It's quite fast! I recently tried a 14/6 on it and it just about hovers. I'm getting around 7000 rpm static so I think a 15 would be too much. 3-D is not my passion but I like the performance with the 14/6. The Dynathrust props are a great value however I had one (brand new) fail in flight on a Topflight Corsair (65") and I got real lucky. I dropped the nose and put the Corsair on the ground fast and when I got to the plane the entire nose including the firewall was hanging off.
The Throttle cable was the only thing keeping the nose and the engine on. It was an easy rebuild but could have been a total waste! A close look at the prop seemed to imply a weakness in the casting. The Rambler has great scale lines. The new finish really makes it stand out. Thanks guys! Flyboy1950 (Bob)
