I have been your posts on the other thread and am wondering some of the very same things.

If it were me, I'd set the CG at about 5" and fly it! That's what I'm going to do with mine, then change it to suit my taste. With all of that control surface and chord length an inch one way or the other should still allow the plane to be controlled.

If you were closer to me I'd fly it for you and if something went wrong I'd give you mine!!!!
