I built my first Tantrum in 3 days, and it flew great with a HiMaxx motor. Unfortunately, it had a close encounter with a light pole. I just received my 2nd Tantrum kit from Mountain Models 2 days ago, and have just started building.

You would not be able to easliy build this plane from the plans alone, since they are extremely basic. The plans do not show many of the parts (only 1 rib is shown, motor mount, canopy frame, etc. are not shown on the plans), and no indication of wood type etc. is shown on plans. It would also be close to impossible to reproduce some of the laser cuts by hand. The key to good flying characteristics of this kit is its light weight. You could not "plans-build" this kit and keep it as light. The kit is only $65 and considering the great fitting laser cut parts, you can't beat that deal.
