Default RE: Goldberg 30% Ultimate Construction Issues

Well, I'm making progress slowly but surely on getting this thing ready to fly. I just need to set up my firewall and engine, and then add a receiver, batteries, and switches, and she'll be ready to go. I found the openings in my wheelpants were not big enough for the wheels, so I had to do some serious dremel tool work on them to get the wheels in with adequate clearance. I modified my elevators by cutting down the edges on the counterbalance and also making some small cutouts in the end of the horizontal stab. This has allowed full 3D deflection on the elevators. My servos and linkages are all set up and I've added a pilot and instrument panel to the cockpit. So far, I'm still very happy with the kit, but I just don't think that this is anywhere near $800 worth of airplane. My Dave Patrick Edge is a much higher quality kit that did not need near this much re-engineering and it was only half the price. This is definitely not double the airplane! Well, hopefully once it flies, it will change my mind! I got a Dave Brown Ultimate spinner to go on my Fox 4.2 and have a collection of Menz and APC props to try out. I'm going to build it initially without a smoke system, but the muffler is a Slimline Pitts smoke muffler, so I can always add one in the future. I'm using JR 8411's on the tail and Hitec 5625's on the wings. It's looking like this will be a nice finished product!
