From tower you can save a bit. I like the futaba radio better, the 3pdf is a great radio and has 3 car memory. I like the memory as you can have brake/throttle settings for different track or motors. You may want to start with a OS CV .12 and not the CVR. The .12 is fast and much more reliable to abuse and easy tuning. I have a CV abd CVR and can beat my times with the CV and enjoy it more than the CVR. The CVR is to much por for most tracks and is a bit on the tempermental side.

you can get these at your local automotive parts store for a buck each. don't try to clean them, just replace them and keep the pre filter clean. A dirty filter will make your truck slow and frustrate you when trying to tune it.
