FACT: He who started this post has not responded in 3 days.
FACT: $5K is alot of money, yes even to those of us who fly jets
FACT: Very reasonable questions and accounts have been raised in this thread that have not been answered
Opinion: If I were being sued and LOST and I thought it was unreasonable, I would be searching for help everywhere I could. In his defense, maybe his counsel has advised him not to talk to anybody regarding the facts as they might used against him. In anycase, those of use who are "reasonable" (and thankfully that includes many of us in this hobby!) would not have left the field that day without excessive, undeniable requests to "help" anyway we could. That would include getting his phone number, email, his BRAND NEW RCU call name(if he didn't know about RCU, tell him about it) etc.... with multiple follow ups to see how he is doing and what his plans are for getting him in the air again. Hey, we all have been in similar situations in our lives and it takes A WHOLE LOT of tact,
PR skills and diplomacy just to get by.
I'm sure you all know Ehab(go look in the classifieds, he is always selling some jet or some turbine, GOD that guy has toys!!!) He is by far the most maticulous flier I know and he was the first one I went to with my ducted fan BVM F-86. It deadsticked and the wings where ripped off with some minor damage. Granted it was not major damage, but had I been flying it, their would have likely been more damage. He was obvoius distraught but I knew I could learn alot from the experience. Just like was previously posted, anyone whom I trust to fly my airplanes can crash them as easily as I can. If it weren't for our flying buddies, no brothers, we would all learn so much less at a much higher cost. It is unfortunate that facts have to be misconstrued by anybody.
After that mouth full, happy flying!!!!
