What engine do you have? I transitioned from a trainer to a UCANDO 3D .46. Great flying airplane, VERY aerobatic and is a great plane to learn on. My first few flights, I flew it EXACTLY like my trainer, very slow, very pattern like, did some loops, and I gradually got in to more high alpha stuff.

However I powered mine with a Saito .72 instead of the OS .46 I had in my trainer. BUT, powered with an OS .46 it would still give you good performance. I used most of the servos from my trainer, and the reciever.

I like the profile idea too, that would be a good platform to learn 3D. And they land like a dream.
