Northeast has a good reputation.... I've never dealt with them personally though.

BTW... longer span to chord (higher aspect ratio) is better for thermaling... lower aspect ratio is desireable for slope soaring if the slope is not large... sometimes it takes a lot of maneuverability to stay in the slope lift, and you just can't get a fast roll rate with a long thin wing.
The "older" design scale models will give the best ability to do all the types of soaring you want to try in one airplane. (they have lower aspect ratios) With the noted exception of that "PSS" Fighter... which would be no good for thermal hunting.
