Actually I went and bought some Golden Rods. I also bought some 2.56 rods just in case (its a long drive the the LHS). The golden inners where too large. So I used David Cutler's idea. It is loose in the outter, obviously, but the "tension" seems pretty tight. There is no slop. I think it will be ok.
