I have been having a heck of a time with my 4*40 push rods sticking. I finally determinted it is the inner push rods that is the problem. It seems there if there is a "rough" place it jams up. I replaced the rod for the elevator with the rods from another kit I have. Now the elevator works great. Rudder is still sticking, badly.
Tower has bound to sell these inner nylon pushrods, but I looked and couldn't find them on there. Does anyone know if Tower sells these? If so, could you help me out by sending me in the right direction?
Thanks,
Wings

Unfortunately... I know of no source for just the inner rod. I have looked for them too.
The normal way to solve it... is buy a full set of nyrods and replace the inners that stick with the new ones. Keep the old ones to trim down fr other places.
Unfortunately... the Sullvan Nyrod inner rod does not fit the Sig tubes exactly... and that leads to slop in the cntrils. (not good.)
An alternate method... you can buy 2-56 threaded at one end 3 fot pushrods. Clip some 1/4 inch pieces of the inner rod (make sure they are smooth pieces) CA these about every 3 inches on the wire pushrod where it will be inside the sheath. (and not pushed out of the sheath... or it WILL jam! (cut off one that would do that... and put one an inch and a half further into the sheath)
You git a bit of the best of 2 worlds... the metal rod is extremely temperature stable. it will flex a bit to follw the sheath in the Four-Star wth no problems. The 1/4 inch pieces act as bearings and if the sheath is anchored well... you won't have any control slop.

The best way to solve all the problems plastic inners give is to simply replace them with 2.56 rod with threaded ends, and thread 2.56 clevises into them. They will be a little loose in the plastic outers, but that's OK.
Be careful not to accidentally use the millimeter 'equivalent' of the rods as the 2.56 clevises 'sort of' screw into them and pull out under stress!

I just tore into my SE and replaced the pushrods with golden rods, and tossed the ones in the sig kit I'm building now. Then I realized that the ones in my LT-25 have been working fine for over a year??? I think they're just too soft.

Thanks for the advice,
Actually I went and bought some Golden Rods. I also bought some 2.56 rods just in case (its a long drive the the LHS). The golden inners where too large. So I used David Cutler's idea. It is loose in the outter, obviously, but the "tension" seems pretty tight. There is no slop. I think it will be ok.
