I could not find a aluminum rod the same diamenter either. I purchased a brass rod the same size, cut it 6 mm longer and filed the slots. Because the adjuster was so far back in the stab the rod would bind on the edge of the opening and the adjuster inside and prevent the stab from fitting flush with the fusalage. I bent the rod in the middle to give it a slight angle. This allowed the wings to line up with the fusalage.
