My Eagle 2 has plentyof power with an OS 40LA. The LA series are well known to be weak engines. My 40LA is probably not much stronger than the 25FX. I'd say it will fly OK, but just barely. You may have trouble getting off a grass runway. Once airborne it should be OK as a trainer.
