Felix, the Avistar MK II AWARF is the discontinued model. It had plastic add on wing tips on the wing and hor. stab. The Avistar 40 II MonoKote ARF is the current model. The wings are interchangeable. As to weather you can join two halves from different models, I don't think so. Unless I'm mistaken, the older model may have used a metal tube in place of the wooden wing joiner and was held together with screwed on straps (as opposed to glueing together).
