Some earlier versions of the Superstar had the wing halves permanently joined with a sturdy wood joiner epoxied in. For extra support a thin metal strap could be screwed across the joint back near the trailing edge. Others have also fiberglassed the joint. Makes for more inconvenient transport but there is more strength. Either way, avoid those high G manuevers.
