LOL You guys make me laugh! I have heard of a couple of ways
1 Run out of fuel. (I heard that this makes your enginge run lean.)
2 Pinch fuel line. (Once again can make engine run lean but this is how I do it!)
3 Stop the flywheel on the bottom of the car with shoe. ((Use your finger? NO-WAY) I tried this, and it burned a hole in my shoe

.))
4 Use a rag and cover the exhaust. (Never tried)
5 Plug the carb (I heard that there is a chance of getting dirt in the carb.)
So I guess it is really up to you, but one time I had a runaway monster truck and the only way to make it stop was pinching the fuel line, because it ate my shoe!!
hhm well if your car is at high rpm why would you pinch the fuel line to make it run lean... pinching it at idle is fine just like letting it run out of fuel at idle, but when you car is winding out you dont want it to run lean.
there shouldnt be any damage from stoping the flyweel unless your idle is set too high
