I was wondering how everyone shuts off their trucks. I have an rc10gt and i was killing the motor by putting my finger over the tail pipe(how the lhs told me to do it). Over the last days or so it wont shut off when I do this . Any help appreciated.

Dont put your finger over the exhaust cause that ends up flooding the motor with fuel. The exhaust will end up pressurizing the tank and pushing the fuel into the motor. Best way to stop it its to lightly lay your finger on the flywheel on the bottom side of the chassis. Dont worry it aint gonna grab your finger. It actually just takes a slight touch and off it is!! Hope this helps you out.

you dont even need to use your shoe if your car is idleing... but if you have a runaway and you car is reving really high hold your car down, pull off the air filter and cover it with you finger, but only if you engine is reving to high to lift it off the groung and stop the flyweel.

use the bottom of your shoe on the flywheel, or just wait till its out of fuel.

LOL You guys make me laugh! I have heard of a couple of ways
1 Run out of fuel. (I heard that this makes your enginge run lean.)
2 Pinch fuel line. (Once again can make engine run lean but this is how I do it!)
3 Stop the flywheel on the bottom of the car with shoe. ((Use your finger? NO-WAY) I tried this, and it burned a hole in my shoe
.))
4 Use a rag and cover the exhaust. (Never tried)
5 Plug the carb (I heard that there is a chance of getting dirt in the carb.)
So I guess it is really up to you, but one time I had a runaway monster truck and the only way to make it stop was pinching the fuel line, because it ate my shoe!!

there shouldnt be any damage from stoping the flyweel unless your idle is set too high

Using your finger is fine as long as it's at idle. If it is revved up I prefer to plug the exhaust, it's always worked best for me. I have a t-maxx and you know how hard it is to get to the flywheel to stop it? if it's just idling I'll just pinch the fuel line...pinch it close to the carb and it won't run lean for long.

OMG you guys must be girls or I have "super hands" cause I stop my .21 in my Worlds II 1/8th scale and my .15 in my 1/8 GT ST at idle or even if the thing takes off and is high reving. Its not like you stick you finger in the gears...........

Dude maybe you did not hear me! The engine in my wife's TQ was at full throttle and trying to run! The flywheel cut a notch in the hard rubber of my shoe, that enough makes me not want to stick my finger in it at any speed!!
