About that red finish ....

In my Irvine catalogue (2000) it shows a parallel range of Irvine motors in the 40/46/53 sizes finished in a BLACK gloss coating ...

They are advertised as being the "quiet" series of these motors.

However, I have never seen one in the flesh, or seen one advertised, even by JustEngines.

Can anyone explain this? The black finish looked much more appealing than that "candy-apple" red they use.

(I still like the Irvines though - I hope they are still being made !)
