Are Irvine engines still in production and if so who make those in UK. I heard that all these engines that are avaliable in US and even in UK are overstocked and the company no longer makes these fine engines?
Does Irvine Engines have their own website?

I bought my last batch of Irvine's from Just Engines.
The engines are very good quality and the prices were really competitive!! I was a very happy customer!!!

Just engines is your place, you wont need a irvine web site. no murmerings here about them not producing, all the news i know is the 36 is no more, its now a 39. maybe in responce the the leo 37?
i loved my 36, but i cant live with that new red coating.
that old 36 is a legend, why did they have to paint it red and play with it.

I agree on the red color.......It sort of locks you into particular color scheme if your engine is exposed. I think it was bad move.
If you can get GMS engines in the UK you ought to give one a try. I have the .47 in my Sig Somethin' Extra and I think it's a wonderful (yet affordable) replacement for my Webra GT .50. I think the only thing I traded away was cost.

About that red finish ....
In my Irvine catalogue (2000) it shows a parallel range of Irvine motors in the 40/46/53 sizes finished in a BLACK gloss coating ...
They are advertised as being the "quiet" series of these motors.
However, I have never seen one in the flesh, or seen one advertised, even by JustEngines.
Can anyone explain this? The black finish looked much more appealing than that "candy-apple" red they use.
(I still like the Irvines though - I hope they are still being made !)
Good news? Irvine have a web site
www.irvineltd.com
Bad news? It's not active yet (groan)

According to Just Engines' website, Sig has signed a Sole Distributership aggreement with Irvine for the US, and J.E. may no longer be able to ship to the US. Someone might want to email Paul and confirm.
If true, this means you'll now have to buy them through a Sig dealer here in the States (unless of course you want to pay full list price and buy directly frrom Sig).
I've seen them advertised at some decent prices, though not as low as from J.E.

I've checked with Paul at JustEngines. You can still buy from him, you just have to ask for it. He just cannot solicit sales to US customers.
I don't want to say much more here, as I might get Paul in trouble with Sig and Irvine.

Irvines are great engines but I don't like the red either. There's no way a powder coat paint to hide the casting finish can transfer the heat as well as unfinished cast aluminum.
The powder coat does help on varnish builup though. You'll notice they "Irvine" does use billet aluminum for the head and it is not painted!
I've got several Irvines 36~72 and wonder what fun fly props your using?
I've found for hovering that my 46's love the APC 12.25x3.75 on 5# Pro twister and APC 13x4W on #72 is awesome on my Morris 60 SuDoKhoi.
The H9 Aresti loves the quick flight provided by the 53 Irvine and APC 11 incher.
