What is the problem? Do you have a serial port?
I have a serial port, which I haven't used in over a year. I bought a cheap (<$10) serial mouse today to test the port. I use a 9z, but I also have a 9c, so I may pick up the adaptor for it if I can't get the ZAP to work.
I really bought it for the better 3D physics and for the OMP downloadable planes. I guess the frustration is included at no extra cost.
