FlyingMonkey, You will have to get a new transmitter to use the extra channels. You transmitter only transmitts the for funcitons on your transmitter. I think the reason they send a seven channel receiver is it is cheaper to make a 7 ch and package it with the lower trqansmitters than it is to make a 4ch receiver,5ch receiver, 6 ch receiver etc.
