just to chime in I have the Spit with retracts and a Thunder Tiger 46 for power. The plane flies fine and I really enjoy it. The retracts are simple mechanical ones from Hobbico and they work just fine. I would consider recovering it I dont have the time nor the skill to make a good camp pattern
