RE: Official XTM X-cellerator thread!!
my X-C is awesome, but i got a new .18 for it and there is something wrong with it. i broke my last one in with no problems but this one was being a pain. all throughout break in and after, my temps never got high or normal. and fuel would come out of my pipe even after break in. i leaned the HSN, and leaned it, and leaned it. but it wouldnt stop coming out. i was also monitoring temps and the head never got hot. i dont have a temp gun but i did the spit test and it wouldnt even burn at all, i could even hold my finger on there for a long time and it woulnt burn. i finally got most of the fuel to stop coming out of the pipe but i went to check my temp this time and same thing, it was slihtly hot, but still, spit wouldnt burn both on top of the head and near the glo plug. but some rolled off onto the exhaust header and ouch! it sizzled right off!. soo i shut the engine down, waited for it to cool, and looked at the inside. i fried my piston. why was the engine getting hot enough to fry my piston but my coolinh head wasnt getting that hot? the coolinh head temps were under 200 degrees F id say.. ohh and this is the XTM .18 engine. anyone know what happened??
