I'm sure you've already thought of the fact that the US version will be on 72mhz whereas we use 35mhz here in the UK.

Worth checking about servicing as well. Last I heard Ripmax (UK Futaba agents) wouldn't touch grey imports (IE one bought elsewhere and not through them), this might have changed.
