I am on the verge on buying a 9CAP from Chief Aircraft in the US. I live in UK, no there no problem except that in UK we can change our crystals very easily. Just unplug 'em from the face of the transmitter. However I have learnt in US that you cannot do this and you need to unscrew the actual module its self. So how do UK modellers change their crystals on the 9CAP (FF9)? If its a plug-in job like a Skyprot 6 then I am ok but if not....
Because I don't want to have to do a major mod.
Thanks!
I must order this soon so forward to victory people!

Also are there any differences between the US and UK version except for the crystal changing.

Zep.
Tx crystal is in a module that plugs into the back of the Tx
The module controls what band the Tx operates on.
Buy the Tx without a module, and get the moule in this country.

Worth checking about servicing as well. Last I heard Ripmax (UK Futaba agents) wouldn't touch grey imports (IE one bought elsewhere and not through them), this might have changed.

Shahid...
Be a bit careful, research this well...you have to have a tranny that is ' modular' you will have to buy your module in the U.K + whatever crystal you opt for. The U.S guys are not allowed to sell you a module thats not legal for use in thier country ...so you have to find some one who will sell you the tranny (thier recievers are of no use whatsoever in this country) minus the module, then you have shipping... then customs will whango you for import duty + VAT ,as a rough guide , say 20% then if Parcel Force get involved , not that you have asked them to, but they do, believe me ! that could cost you another £8.00...Inwood..? Ah bugger, I forgot about the receiver!!!!! Damn well. I have a US receiver if anyone wants it...
But I know about the module. I ordered it without the module so...buying a 35 Mhz one from Als hobbies should be very simple.
