Thanks, but that would be a lot of work I don't want to do. I think it would also weaken the booms in the tail area.

Mine, and I assume all KMP P-38's, fly good with the 5/16" of down trim. It just looks funny when you look at it on deck. I can't see that it would have any bad effect other than possibly stalling the elevator if I give it full down elevator while inverted. Right side up full up is only 1/4" of up in relation to the trailing edge of the stab. I also put in more throw than was recommended and the flaps have aileron mixed to them for more roll or if the ailerons ever went out.....
