SlowPoke 40 Sport - Proper Control Throws????
I have read all the threads on this discussion. Everyone mentioned something about the control throws being oversensitive or undersensitive. Which is is?? I have the ARF, powered by an OS 46sx. I was ground checking the plane and decided to run it take off, stall and land before it got airborne.... well - I ran out of runway before it got off the ground. No scratches on the plane, but my hunches were dead on. The manual's suggested elevator control settings seemed WAAAAAY too low. With this powerplant, that plane should be airborne in 20 feet! The manual indicates : Elevator Low - 1/4" , High 7/16" I know this is a very low load wing, but those travels still seem way too low. Did the manual mean 1 1/4 " ???? I was considering going to 7/16" low and 1" high, to me this seems more reasonable but it still might be low. Before I take off, I want to make sure.. There is no worse feeling than having no elevator control. I am positive the plane is setup correctly.
I have been flying trainers successfully for some time, and am very comfortable with all aspects of flight and even recovering from mistakes or incidents (my aileron servo horn broke in flight and I was still able to land with a fluttering aileron) I also have been flying my U Can Do 3D (not as a 3D plane yet tho!)
I am interested in knowing what are the realistic surface throws for this airplane....
Thanks!
