If you're using the 33" boom and carbon rod (part#0968-10) from the Extreme kit, my manual states the rods (part#0868-7) should be inserted 26-26.5mm into the carbon rod. It doesn't mention how much is sticking out.

The ball links are to be threaded down 7mm.
