The real point of my note was that I didn't need to have an 8611 to do the job. I can still Knife-edge loop the same plane, with any choice of radius, with the 8411 and the 8311, (I use both types).

There is a great temptation to rush out and install the latest and greatest in our pattern planes. Manufacturers might like us all to go and do that :-) I Like to try things out and then report as independantly as possible on their perceived neccesity as well as their performance.

It is, of course, a matter of personal taste. I know some pattern folks that still do not like digital servos and run with 500 mAh RX nicad packs, and do just fine, I hastily might add.
